Tommaso, founder & tour leader
Tommaso Aguzzi has been exploring and living Central Asia since 2017, switching between teaching activity, doing academic fieldwork, backpacking across the region, and hiking its mountains.
Having travelled to 40+ countries, he combines his passion for photography with outdoor adventure, always chasing places, people, and stories far beyond the ordinary.

The idea of Arbustan grew out of our own journeys across Central Asia. Step by step, on trails over high passes, along alpine lakes, and through endless steppes.
Those hikes, those encounters, and those moments of freedom left us with a simple wish: to share the same experiences with others.
Our mission is simple: to give back to the communities that welcomed us, to travel with care in the places that inspired us, and to create journeys that stay with you long after you’ve returned home.

How do I book a trip with Arbustan?

Are the hikes suitable for me?
Yes—our hikes are designed to be accessible for anyone with a reasonably active lifestyle. If you regularly go for long walks, hike, run, or do some cardio once or twice a week, you’ll be fine. We keep a steady, comfortable pace with plenty of breaks, and the planned hikes typically involve no more than 800–900 m of elevation gain in a day.
Who will guide the group tours?
All of our group tours are personally led by Tommaso, Arbustan’s co-founder and experienced travel leader. He will accompany you every step of the way, ensuring a smooth and enriching adventure.
Can I create my own itinerary?
Yes! If you prefer to travel independently, we design tailor-made itineraries with detailed recommendations, routes, accommodations, and activities—all based on your travel style.
Do you organize private tours?
Absolutely. You can book one of our guides for a private tour, giving you full flexibility and a personalized experience, whether you’re a solo traveler, couple, or small group of friends.
What’s included in the price of a tours?
Most of our tours include transportation, accommodations, local meals, entrance fees, and the full-time presence of your guide. Each itinerary page specifies exactly what’s included.
